Combining Coaching and Organizational Consulting
Leadership development is often a combination of 1) learning concrete skills, information, or habits 2) exploring the personal development necessary to take on greater leadership with effectiveness and grace, and 3) developing organizational relationships and processes that increase group alignment, commitment, and clarity of direction. “Coaching” mostly addresses items 1 and 2; 3 gets into the arenas of group training and organizational development consulting. Our work together may begin in one mode or the other, and we may from time to time choose to switch from “coaching” mode to “consulting,” to “training,” or vice versa. I will make every effort to be clear when I am “switching hats” in this way, and to make sure it is your choice to make that shift.
